More Information
Sree Dharmapuri Kshetram History
Sri Dharmapuri Kshetra, located in Miyapur, Hyderabad, is a place of worship where local devotees used to pray to the Goddess under a big neem tree. The Goddess is worshipped here as Goddess Vijaya Durga, known as Shanta Swaroopini, giving peace and positive energy to all devotees.
As mentioned in Lalita Sahasranama, the Divine Mother (Maha Shakti) appears in many forms, and devotees can worship her in any form they feel connected to.
In 1987, an incident happened where a thief took the temple hundi. After this, his child suddenly fell sick while sleeping. The thief believed this happened because of Amma’s anger. He felt very sorry, came back to the temple, asked for forgiveness, and promised Amma that he would follow the right path (dharma) and never do wrong again.
This story shows how Amma’s power can change a person’s life, guiding them from wrong actions to a good and truthful path.
